A web‐based Dashboard displaying metrics of prosperity is under development, in accordance with the

Regional Prosperity Initiative grant.

Lansing, July 3, 2014: Six prominent organizations—consisting of Capital Area Michigan Works!, LEAP, Inc., Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, Lansing Community College, Michigan State University and the Tri‐ County Regional Planning Commission—joined forces in an effort to establish a five‐year Economic Prosperity Plan after being awarded a $155,000 grant from the State of Michigan; they were dubbed the Greater Lansing Regional Prosperity Initiative.

Per the Regional Prosperity Initiative Grant, the group is also developing a Dashboard webpage to show
community progress in the tri‐county area, with input from local economic development professionals. After
meetings designed to define regional prosperity, four pillars, or areas, were identified as important to track
with a Dashboard; and in turn help the region to achieve prosperity. The four pillars established are Economy and Financial Health; Education and Talent; Health and Environment; Culture and Lifestyle.
These pillars will be measured and displayed to the public using a Dashboard webpage (to be linked to TCRPC’s site, www.mitcrpc.org). The Dashboard is a series of widgets, or interactive graphs and tables, which will be easy to interpret by the public.

After a request for proposals was sent out, the company that will be collecting measureable data, Munetrix,
has begun the data collection process. The next step is to develop the webpage itself. Once developed, the
Dashboard page will be unveiled at a summit event on October 21. This event will also include the unveiling of the Five‐Year Regional Prosperity Plan.

The Lansing Tri‐County Regional Economic Partnership (LTREP), LEAP, Inc., and Tri‐County Regional Planning Commission convene to discuss regional prosperity and the aspects of the grant on the third Thursday of each month at 3 p.m. at the offices of the Tri‐County Regional Planning Commission, which is located at 3135 Pine Tree Road, Lansing. Meetings are open to the public and interested businesses and agencies are encouraged to participate. Discussions will continue monthly at LTREP meetings, the next event being July 17.
