Patriarche concept plan

Via Lansing State Journal  Dawn Parker

When the new playscape at Patriarche Park is completed late next summer, it will have fun and innovative features not seen in mid-Michigan or anywhere in the state.

The project planned by the Rotary Club of East Lansing will be built in the summer of 2014, with a grand opening in August 2014. Intended to be fully accessible to children of all abilities, the play areas will also have spots where adults may sit and watch children or just relax.

The accessibility of the playground is itself forward-thinking, but what’s really new is the ring of areas around it. There’s a garden planted in old tires, a “stick village” for fun playtime and a sensory garden, especially helpful for those on the autism spectrum.
