After three years and the work of many volunteers, the Lansing Walkability Audit is almost complete. The Mid-Michigan Environmental Action Council, AARP of Michigan, and the City of Lansing joined together to complete part of 2009's Complete Streets Ordinance. Over 700 miles of sidewalk have been examined. During spring 2014, Mid-MEAC and AARP will share this data with the City of Lansing to aid in the prioritizing of sidewalk repair and construction.
