Dr. Kim will share her academic and research expertise in housing in a presentation of her recently completed research on housing needs and issues in mid-Michigan. Dr. Kim's research examined the communities in Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties. Her work included extensive surveys and interviews with area housing agencies, residents, municipal staff, and land use planners. Dr. Kim teamed with the Greater Lansing Housing Coalition to provide an accurate diagnosis of current housing and to set practical, achievable goals to improve housing affordability across our region. Supported by the Mid-Michigan Program for Greater Sustainability, this research is a basis for the development of a regional fair and affordable housing plan now underway. Join us to learn more about the study's recommendations for the future of Mid-Michigan housing.

This study and research was made possible by a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development Sustainable Communities program to the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission as part of the Mid-Michigan Program for Greater Sustainability. Byline
